What Your Body Is Really Craving


Every month I am dying for chocolate and french fries. I am a girl who loves the sweet and salty combination. Food cravings get the best of me,  to be honest. I give in so quickly! This is why I won’t allow myself to have junk food in my house.

Food Cravings

After studying for my sports nutrition certification, I began to learn that my cravings are mainly the result of my body missing  nutrients. I figured I would share a few notes about how your body responds to food cravings.

Stress and Cravings

Sometimes, food cravings are the result of stress. Food can satisfy emotional needs in order reduce anxiety and stress levels. Carbohydrates boost our levels of the hormone serotonin, which has a calming effect. The combination of fat and sugar may also have the same calming effect.

      LOL Me too! I am drinking a raw chocolate malt right now. It’s very good and hit the chocolate craving perfectly. I started making my own cashew milk and now I am rather in love.
