Monisha's Minute: #WorkoutWednesdays

Reason #789 I love my job: I get to wear gym clothes to work once a week and work out hardcore with my students. Like Whitney and Alex, I have a day job. I happen to work at a small faith based private school designed for students who need a second chance at acquiring their high school diploma.

This quarter we’ve incorporated #WorkoutWednesdays. A trainer from Preston Center Personal Training comes down to Sunny South Dallas and facilitates a hard core circuit training class for the entire school. Yes, students, teachers, and even the principal are separated into groups and complete a 5 station workout. Check out some of the pics!

Our first #WorkoutWednesday was epic! Everyone was into it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Interestingly, that one 45 minute workout session brought us closer together that day. Without realizing it we had a shared experience. It also gave us the opportunity to talk about health and wellness.

You may not have access to a personal trainer or 20 students, but there are many ways you can create your own #WorkoutWednesday with your coworkers, friends, or family. I’d like to challenge all readers of this blog post to have a #WorkoutWednesday session with their coworkers, friends, or family. It doesn’t have to be 45 minutes. It can be 30 minutes or  even a portion of your lunch break. As long as its a group effort. In the comment section below, let me know what your group completed. It’ll be cool to see the different varieties of workouts selected. Group exercising can be so much fun!

    I would like to do this with my team at the school…maybe even do a little wager every week and at the end split it with the top 3 who lose the most weight, percentage or inches…however we agree…but glad to see the group of various ages and stages come together!!
