Monisha's Minute: Not Your Average Running Class

I’m at a loss for words on how to start off this blog segment. Simply put, for the past two months I have been blessed to be able to do life with 40 people interested in training for a 5K race, many running for the first time in their adult life. My running company Runner’s Revelations partnered with Concord Church of Dallas, TX to offer the only certified running program south of I 30 in Dallas.

As the head running coach of the Sole Patrol 5K Training Program, I trained new runners tips and techniques on how to run with proper breathing technique and running mechanics. The laughs, tears, sweat, and shivers (on cold mornings) we experienced challenged everyone physically, mentally, and spiritually.

On Saturday, November 17th the class came to a culminating end with a Graduation 5K race. All program participants were encouraged to participate in this unique race designed just for the people in the Sole Patrol 5K training program. Of Course, over the two month period we lost some. However the Graduation 5K was a great moment for everyone present, including the spectators! Check out some of the pics!

These pictures fail to convey how much I love running and the joy I get from coaching others. To see many of these ladies cross a race finish line for the first time was a level of awesomeness I rarely experience! I don’t know why God chose me to be a running coach, but I’m glad He did. Congrats to all of the new runners! And yes, Runner’s Revelations and Concord Church will offer another class. Stay tuned…

Love, Peace, and Sweat,

Monisha R.
