My New Workout Plan

 

Like I told y’all earlier this week, I started the Insanity workout plus half marathon training. It’s been brutal to say the least. But I HAD to do another kind of workout besides run or else I would get bored to death and lose my motivation.  I just got done taking a 2 week workout break after our labor day triathlon. Needless to say starting to workout again after such a long break was a challenge, but with such a strenuous routine it was almost too much for my body to handle. Here are the workouts I did this week:

Monday

  • Insanity
  • 2 mile sprint drills

I was a little sore, but that was to be expected.

 

Tuesday

  • Insanity

My legs were SO sore Tuesday morning, but I toughed it out and completed my Insanity workout. Tuesday night was a different story. I could barely walk, literally. My calves and hamstrings were so sore!

 

Wednesday

I took the day off because I was hurting so bad I thought I was going to injure myself if I attempted a workout.

 

Thursday

  • Insanity

I felt better Thursday morning so I toughed out another Insanity workout and planned on running 3.5 miles after work but mid-way through my Insanity workout I pulled something. I was hobbling around my house trying to get dressed for work. I was pitiful. Needless to say my afternoon run didn’t happen. My BF mentioned that if I kept hurting my legs that I wouldn’t be able to compete in my half marathon at all. He had a good point…

 

Friday

I didn’t work out Friday morning since I was still a little sore. I might try and go for a 6 mile run later in the afternoon if I feel up to it. But if not, that will happen Saturday.

 

With all of my inconsistencies,  my Insanity schedule is off. I’m just going to start over next week. Hopefully it won’t be as brutal.
