Moisturizing Routine for Healthy Natural Hair

As an avid mover and endurance athlete, I know one of the biggest frustrations about working out and having natural hair is keeping it moisturized. This is why we created Workout Hair Care Solutions.

For the past few years, I’ve been using the Sporty Afros Method to keep my hair moisturized while maintaining an active lifestyle. All of my natural friends give it two thumbs up for its ability to keep their hair moisturized without complicated steps of dozens of products.

Step 1: Spray

This is most critical step in the process. Using a moisturizing spray not only adds the first layer of moisture but also softens your hair. This is also a quick way to finger detangle before applying product.

Step 2: Apply Cream

I like to use a medium to heavy cream that also acts as a styler. My go to product is TGIN Daily buttercream because I can use it multiple times during the week and it doesnt flake. Whitney uses Obia Naturals Curl Moisture Cream. Pick your favorite daily cream/butter that works for your hair texture and type.

Step 3: Seal with Oil

Take a small silver dollar amount of oil and place in your hands. Spread out it in your palms and work it from root to tip. You can add more if needed but pay special attention to the ends of your hair.

That’s it! The results are amazing, soft and shiny hair.
