Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque Product Review

The other week I went to Target in search of my favorite deep conditioner, Yes to Carrots, but I wasn’t able to find it. I don’t think they carry it anymore 🙁  I looked through their expansive natural hair aisle and I decided to try Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque. I really had no particular reason, but the ingredients looked good and the price was right. I’ve been using it for the past 3 weeks as part of my weekly hair regimen. First, I pre-poo with SportyAfros Ayurveic Oil and do a scalp massage. Then, I wash with Afroveda Moisturizing Shampoo. Next,  I deep conditioned Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque.

Shea Moisture gets a grade of B. It does the job. Nothing more, nothing less. For me, it’s missing something. I’m not sure what that something is though. My hair just feels regular after I rinse it out, not particularly soft or anything.  It’s a good product if I can’t find my favorite conditioner.

Hi, I tried this product and you mentioned it is missing something. Try adding honey, vegetable glycerin, olive oil, and peppermint oil to your mix! The ingredients worked wonders on my hair! My hair came out soft, shiny, and detangled.
Let me know your results if you try this!

I agree. I’ve tried it as well and had the exact same conclusion. Its missing something. I love the ingredients in Shea moisture, but I also added greek yogurt, and mixed in some of my regular conditioner. That left my hair so soft that I was very happy. I like the greek yogurt deep conditioners but could never find the right combination to get the softness I wanted. Now I’ve found it.
